该句是由where引导的特殊疑问句,用于询问“某人某物在哪里”,结构为“Where+be+主语?”,句子的主语可以是人或物,be动词要和后面的主语保持一致。主语是单数时用is,主语是复数时用are。

Where are her books?她的书在哪里?

Where is your sister?你妹妹在哪里?

2.They’re on the sofa.它们在沙发上。(教材第19页)

(1)they是人称代词,意为“他们;她们;它们”,是人称代词he,she,it的复数形式。 常用来代替事物的复数形式。

一、where引导的特殊疑问句

1.用法:该特殊疑问句用来询问人或物所在的位置,其结构为“where is +单数名词?”或 “where are+复数名词?”。也就是说where后面的be动词是用is还是are取决于be动词后

面的名词或代词的单复数。单数用is,复数用are。 Where’s my hat?我的帽子在哪里? Where are your parents?你的父母在哪里?

2.答语:where引导的特殊疑问句答语有以下三种形式。

(1)用It’s+介词短语(对应Where is...?)或They’re+介词短语(对应Where are...?)。 —Where’s my hat?我的帽子在哪里? —It’s on your head?它在你头上。

(2)可直接回答物品所在地点,省略it’s或they’re。 —Where are your parents?你的父母在哪里? —(They are) In the room.他们在房间里。

(3)当你不知道在哪里,可用“I don’t know”来回答,意为“我不知道”。 —Where’s my bag?我的书包在哪里? —I don’t know.我不知道。

注意:don’t=do not,其中do是助动词,当主语为第三人称单数时,助动词应用does,与not

缩写为doesn’t。

She doesn’t know.她不知道。

二、介词in,on与under的用法

1.in意为“在……里面,在……内”通常表示在某一空间里。 My ring is in the bag.我的戒指在包里。

【拓展】in还可以表示地点、在某年、月、世纪、早上、晚上等及使用什么语言。 如:in Wuhan在武汉;in the morning在早上;in 2014在2014年;in English用英语 2.on意为“在……上面”,表示物体间有面的直接接触。 A cup is on the desk.书桌上有个杯子。 【拓展】on也可表示时间(后接具体某一天)。 如:on Monday在星期一 3.under意为“在……下面”。 如:under the desk在课桌下 Exercise

everywhere副词,意为“处处;到处;各个地方”,相当于here and there。 In spring,we can see flowers everywhere.在春天,我们到处都能看到花。 The balls are everywhere.球到处都是。

3.Gina always asks.吉娜总是问。(教材第23页)

(1)always副词,意为“总是;始终;永远”,常用在一般现在时中,表示动作发生的频率。

The boy is always early for school.这个男孩总是很早到校。 She always likes to ask why.她总是喜欢问为什么。

【拓展】常见的表示频率的副词还有:usually通常;often经常,sometimes有时,ever曾经, never从不。

(2)ask动词,意为“问;询问”,其反义词是answer,意为“回答”。 If you don’t know,you must ask.如果你不知道,你就要问。 Don’t ask me—I don’t know.别问我,我不知道。 Exercise

(1)why是疑问副词,意为“为什么”,询问原因。常用来引导特殊疑问句,其答语常用 “Because+句子.”。

—Why does he like baseball?他为什么喜欢棒球? —Because it’s fun.因为它很有意思。

(2)because作连词,意为“因为”,其后跟句子,陈述原因或理由,常用于回答why引导 的疑问句。

—Why is he not here?他为什么不在? —Because he is ill.因为他生病了。

【注意】在汉语中“因为……所以……”常会同时出现在一个句子中。在英语中,because 和so不能同时出现在一个句子中,两者只能用其一。

Because geography is interesting,I like it.=Geography is interesting,so I like it.因为地理很有趣, 所以我喜欢它。

特殊疑问句

特殊疑问句是对句中某一部分内容提出疑问的问句,是指以“what,who,when,where,why,how 等”开头的疑问句,也称wh-疑问句。特殊疑问句与一般疑问句不一样,它不能用yes或no 回答。

1.构成:疑问词+其他句子成分?其中,疑问词包括疑问代词和疑问副词两种。 疑问代词有:what,who,which,whose,whom 疑问副词有:how,why,when,where

(1)倒装句结构:疑问词+一般疑问句?此时,疑问词及其所修饰的部分不作主语,即作宾语、 定语、表语、状语等。

What do you like for lunch?你午餐喜欢吃什么?(作宾语)

(2)陈述句结构:疑问句+谓语动词+宾语/表语/状语?此时,疑问词及其所修饰的部分作 主语。

Who teaches you math?谁教你们数学?(作主语)

Whose shoes are on the chair?谁的鞋放在椅子上?(与名词一起作主语) 2.疑问词小结:
