摘要：PURPOSE:To prevent rupture of a flywheel by providing a corner roundness forthe bottom peripheral edge of a counter-bored recess, in which the end of a crank shaftis fitted, and subjecting the corner roundness to surface hardening treatment.CONSTITUTION:In a flywheel 1, corner roundness 1e is provided throughout thecircumference of the bottom periphery 1c, which forms boundary between a counter-bored recess 1a and a rising part 1b. This corner roundness 1e is subjected to surfacehardening treatment, for ex. shot-peening or high frequency quenching. The end 2a of acrank shaft is fitted in this recess 1a. This accomplishes high strength without generatingconcentrated load at the corner roundness, and thereby rupture of flywheel likely to beinitiated at the bottom periphery will be avoided.
