摘要：An apparatus (10) for processing electrical signals corresponding to acousticemissions produced in a machine or process comprises a transducer (12) acoustically
coupled to the machine or process, which detects the acoustic emissions and convertsthem into an output signal. The output signal is amplified by an amplifier (14), rectifiedand enveloped by an enveloper (16) having a short time constant to produce an electricalsignal. An enveloper (18), having a long time constant, measures the mean level of theelectrical signal. A DC component remover (20) removes the DC component from theelectrical signal and an enveloper (22), having a long time constant, measures the meanlevel of the rectified AC component of the electrical signal. A processor (24), having a lowsampling rate, measures a power of the ratio between the mean level of the rectified ACcomponent of the electrical signal and the mean level of the electrical signal. Theapparatus is self compensating for variations in the machine operating condition ortransducer sensitivity and is relatively cheap to manufacture.
