摘要：The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for treatingbiologically convertible matter by contacting same with microorganisms deposited andimmobilized on support carriers. The apparatus is made of a bioreactor comprising threesections, namely a distribution chamber, a bioreactor chamber and a collection chamber.The bioreactor chamber comprises the above mentioned support carriers that areresistant against biodegradation. The modular bioreactor does not require mechanicalaeration and may operate continuously, therefore reducing operation costs.
