给外国人介绍春节的英语作文
Chinese Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, is the most important festival in China. It usually falls on the first day of the first lunar month according to Chinese calendar. The festival has more than 4,000 years of history and is a time for family reunions.
Before the Spring Festival comes, people begin to prepare themselves. People will buy gifts, like clothes, jewelry, toys and so on to make their families happy. Houses will be thoroughly cleaned to sweep off the bad luck. People will also decorate their houses with paper cuttings and couplets. And of course, people will cook delicious dishes.
On Spring Festival eve, people will have a big dinner, which is called \"reunion dinner\". After dinner, people stay up late to wait for the coming of the New Year. And when the clock strikes midnight, they will set off fireworks and firecrackers to celebrate the New Year.
The next morning, people get up early and wear new clothes. They will also send good wishes to each other and exchange gifts. On the second day of the New Year, people visit relatives and friends to enjoy the festival.
The activities related to Spring Festival last for several days. People can get together with their families and share
happiness. That’s why the festival is so important for Chinese people. I believe foreign friends will experience a lot of joy when joining in the celebration of the Chinese Spring Festival.
