在高考英语试题中，惟有英语作文最能反映考生综合运用英语能力的素质。它通过限时的简单写作来考查学生的写作水平能否达到中学英语教学大纲所规定的写作要求。《考试说明》在英语作文（书面

表达）部分中指出：“根据所给情景，写一篇100个单词左右的书面材料。情景包括目的、对象、时间、地点、内容等；提供情景的形式有图画、图表、提纲、短文等。”同时对考生英语作文的要求是：1）切中题意；）语言准确、得当；）条理清楚。

高考英语作文属控制性写作，其基本模式是：求考生根据语言提示或画面提示，利用所学词语、语法知识和句式结构表达一定意思，同时考查考生的英语表达是否合乎英语习惯能否达到传递信息的目的，能否进行思想交流。 二、高考英语作文的要求

“写”，是高中英语教学大纲和新教材要求学生“四会”的一个内容，一直以来是高考英语试卷所采用的题型之一。

英语作文旨在考查考生的英语表达能力，看其是否能够运用学过的英语知识和掌握的技能进行思想交流。近几年的高考英语作文（书面表达）题设计巧妙、题目新颖、综合性强，从多方位、多角度对学生的语言综合能力进行考查，是融形式、文体、交际于一体的好试题。笔者通过对近几年高考英语试卷的英语写作题认真分析，归纳出该题型对考生英语写作能力具体要求有以下几条： 必须具有正确拼写单词和恰当选择词汇的能力

a）beautiful，pretty与smart，handsome的词意均有“漂亮”的意思，然而前两者是用来修饰女性之妩媚、娇美，给人以赏心悦目之美感；后两者通常使用作修饰男性之洒脱、英俊，给人一种坚毅、阳刚之美。若将这对混淆来用，无疑给人一种错位之感和一种不好的联

想范畴，会引起读者的反感之情。当然must还具有“聪明的”含义，这是其他三个单词所不具有的。

具有使用语法规则和灵活运用句式结构的能力

语言形式是语言的表象符号系统。而一个系统就必须遵循其系统规则，这个系统规则包括：语音规则、词汇规则、句法规则、词语搭配规则和篇章规则。所以任何一位考生在进行写作时必须遵守这一系统规则，这点是毋庸置疑的。不过在写作过程中最为重要的两个规则要素是：语法规则和句型。其中尤以语法规则中的句法规则最为重要，考生对此万万不可忽视。

有些句式结构或语言表述符合中国的语言交际原则，然而却不一定符合或完全背离英美国家的语言交际原则，这种种的语言社会性差异常常给人一种误解、费解，从而造成对方对其语言理解的困惑，往往达不到正常的交际目的。 任何一种语言的词汇都有其具体与抽象之分，高雅与通俗之别，褒扬与贬抑之迥，正式与非正式之异；语言有口语与书面语之分，文章有文体之不同。如英语写作中的议论文和说明文宜多用书面语、长句或复合句；记叙文、口头通知和便条应多用口语、短句、简单句或并列句。

高考的英语作文要求难度不是很大，且文章的题材多为记叙文和应用文，所以，众位考生宜多用简洁明了的句式结构，准确、朴实的大众化的词语，同时还应娴熟掌握英语惯用表达法的灵活运用。

用英语写作时，光有一定的词汇量，掌握一些基本语法规则和了解一些语言的社会性的知识还不足以写好文章，那么还需要什么呢? 我们知道，作为考生——写作者来讲，作文实际上是写作者自身的知识和能力的综合素质体现。由于高考英语作文题的题材多样，既有文字的提示，又有图表或图片的提示，而这种种形式的提示信息多为含蓄的，有些甚至是无序的。这无形中就增加了写作难度，考生若想从这些既含蓄又无序的信息中获取明了的写作关键信息，从这些无序的信息中整理出有序的写作材料，他（她）必须具有一位写作者所具有敏锐的观察事物的能力和细致人微的分析判断繁杂事物的能力。一篇短文的写作。由此可见，敏锐的观察能力与细致的分析判断能力乃是成就一篇短文写作的关键之所在。 具有注重语篇连贯，表现短文主旨的语言交际能力

一篇文章的写作成功都不是由简单的句子与句子相互堆砌而成的，而是由一些意义相关的句子，合乎逻辑的衔接，必要的背景铺垫和恰到好处的意义转换，并且全篇短文应围绕其中心思想来实现所写文章的特殊交际目的。英文写作除了词语上的照应、重复、替代、连接和省略等语言基本技能之外，还需有时间的顺序、地点的变换、事情发展的延续和语言的褒扬和贬抑等短文写作技巧和修辞作为文章的起承转合的铺垫及背景的衬托，使整篇短文都围绕一个中心来铺陈，使之前后遥相呼应，首尾环环相扣。惟此，篇章的语义才能得以真正的呈现。
