Love or Money, Which One You Choose?
Recently, with the release of the TV series called Naked Wedding, a heated discussion is aroused on the issue of love and money in a marriage. Some people who hold the belief that families of equal standing can be matched think that money is the most important. However, not a few people believe that love surpasses the money and is the foundation of our marriage. From my apart, love is a must while money is a need in a marriage.
To begin with, love is the guarantee of a happy marriage. It is because boys and girls love each other deeply that they marry in hand. At this point, someone may wonder if there is love in an arranged marriage. What I want to emphasize is that even in an arranged marriage, love is gradually developed and still exist throughout their whole marriage life. What’s more, love is the spice of our marriage life. A marriage without love is just like a stream without flowing water and someday it will dry up. In our life, some couples are reluctant to come together without true love and they often quarrel with each other and finally end their marriage by a divorce. However, money is also needed in a marriage. As a famous Chinese saying goes everything goes wrong for the poor couple. Once we get married, we need to shoulder our own responsibility for both our partner and our parents or parents in law. When they lose their capability to earn their living, we need to care them. How can we deal this without
enough money? So money is necessary to a marriage, which doesn’t mean marriage should be based on money and is also different from money worship.
On the whole, love should be given the priority when we build our own family. Money can be earned gradually while true love cannot be bought by money.
