【探究1】I am back home. 我回到家里了。 be back和come back有什么区别吗? be back意思是“回到什么地方,返回”,be back 强调状态;get back, come back, go back 等也指返回,强调动作。这类短语若其后面的地点是名词,需在名词前面加to;若后面的地点是home, here, there等副词,则不用加 to。

如:The new term begins, and the students are back to school. 新学期开始了,学生们回到了学校。

例1. He wanted to back earlier. (改错) 透析: 本句的意思是“他想早点回来”,back是副词,不能单独和to连用,而应将to back 换为to be back,或to come back。 变式演练1

He is back from Qingdao. (改为同义句) He _______ _______ from Qingdao.

【探究2】Today was my first day of school in China.今天是我在中国上学的第一天。 first是什么词性?应怎样使用? first 是序数词,意思是“第一(个)”,作为序数词,first前面需加 the, 但当first前有my, her, their, our等物主代词修饰时不能再加the。另外,first还可用作副词,表示 “首先”。 如:He is my first friend in China. 他是我在中国的第一个朋友。 Let me call your names first. 让我先点名。 例2. The girl is reading _________.

A. lesson one B. the first lesson C. first lesson D. the Lesson One 透析:“第一课”可以说成“Lesson One”,每个单词的首字母都大写,且前面不加冠词;也可以说“the first lesson”,序数词前面要加冠词the。故只有B项正确。 变式演练2 翻译:

【探究3】I was happy to see your e-mail. 我很高兴看到你的电子邮件。 请分析一下这句话。

句中be glad to do sth.表示“很高兴做某事”。这是一个常用句型,其结构为:.。该句型的主语是人,形容词为描述人的情感的词,有sorry, happy, sad, thankful, polite, surprised等。 如:I was surprised to meet my son in the net bar. 在网吧里见到了我的儿子我很吃惊。 I’m sorry to hear that. 我听到那件事很难过。

例3. I’m glad _______ you here.

A. to meet B. meets C. meeting D. met 透析:本句的意思是“很高兴在此见到你”,它符合“be + 形容词+ to do sth”结构,故选A。 变式演练3 用所给的单词的适当形式填空: I am happy _______ (get) your presents.

【探究4】Every teacher has a different classroom. 每位教师都有一间不同的教室。 every与each的区别是什么?

(1) every只能用作形容词,不能使用。each可作形容词,也可作代词。在指“每一个”时,every的“整体”意义较重,而each的“个别”意义较重。

如:Each of them was busy with his work. 他们每个人都忙于自己的工作。 I know every student (=all the students). 我认识每一个学生。 (2) each可以指两个或两个以上的人或物中的“每一个”,而every却只能指三者以上范围内的“每一个”。

如:There are many shops on each side of the street. 街道每边有许多商店。 例4. The girls ________(each, every)have an apple. 透析:本句的意思是“每个女孩都有一个苹果”,each可作形容词,也可作代词,而every只能用作形容词,不能使用。故选each,在句中作代词,是the girls的同位语。 变式演练4 根据汉语提示纠正下列句子:

我给她父母每人一件礼物。I gave a present to every one of her parents.

【探究5】It’s fun to get e-mail from China! 收到从中国来的邮件是很有趣的! It在句中指什么?

此句为“It + be +形容词/名词+动词不定式短语”结构。句中it为形式上的主语,动词不定式短语在句中为真正的主语。本句还可以写成:To get e-mail from China is fun. 如:It’s necessary to speak English as much as possible every day. 每天尽量多地说英语是很有必要的。

It’s our duty to work hard at school. 在学校努力学习是我们的责任。 例5. It’s fun _________ skating.

A. go B. to go C. going D. goes 透析:本句的意思是“去滑冰很有趣”,为“It + be +形容词/名词+动词不定式短语”结构,故选B。

变式演练5根据汉语提示补全下列句子:

在公共场所大声讲话是不礼貌的。It is impolite __________________ in public places.

【探究6】On Wednesday, my cousin Brian arrives from the U.K. 星期三我表哥布莱恩从英国到来。

arrive, reach与 get都表示“到达”,它们有什么区别呢? 三者都可以表示“到达”,其区别是: arrive是不及物动词,其后接表示地点的名词时要与介词连用,到达的地方范围较大时用in,地方范围较小时用at。

reach是及物动词,其后可直接跟表示地点的名词。

get是不及动词,其后接表示地点的名词时需加介词to。

如:They arrived in Shanghai last night. 他们昨天晚上到达了上海。 Tom will arrive at the station soon. 汤姆会很快到达车站。 He reached London yesterday. 他昨天已到达了伦敦。

When did they get to the park?他们什么时间到达的公园?

注意: 当arrive, reach和get后面表示地点的词为副词时,都不用加介词。 例6. The farmer arrived at the woman’s house yesterday.

透析:D项时态错误;C项是及物动词,其后可直接跟表示地点的名词;B项got是不及动词,其后接表示地点的名词时需加介词to,故只有A正确。 变式演练6
