摘要：A rope tensioner is used, for example, to connect a rope under tension to asafety switch whereby the switch operates, e.g., to turn off power to machinery guardedor bounded by the rope in the event that the rope tension departs significantly from apredetermined value. The rope tensioner ensures a firm gripping of the rope reducing
risk of the rope slipping and losing the required tension. The rope tensioner comprisesto this end a housing with passageways to receive the rope running between main inletand outlet locations and a clamp to apply a clamping force transverse to the rope at aclamping location within the passageway , the passageway having sections running inopposed directions.
