摘要:A process is disclosed for the production of injection molded high densitypolyethylene articles having reduced combustibility and high impact strength comprising:maintaining a mold cavity at a preselected back pressure sufficiently high to substantiallyprevent foaming of a high density polyethylene material melt to be injected therein;injecting said melt into said mold cavity under pressure in excess of said back pressure tofill said mold cavity; said high density polyethylene material melt containing: (a) fromabout 50 to 70% by weight of alumina trihydrate, (b) from about 1 to 12% by weight ofwater as a processing aid, and (c) from about 0.5 to 3% by weight of a methoxypolyethylene glycol propyltrimethoxy silane having the formula: ##EQU1## wherein nrepresents the average number of ethoxy repeat units between 3.0 and 11.0.
